Introduction

An easy choice for almost any spellcaster, Genie Magic offers flexible access to low-level Sorcerer spells, allowing you access to utility options at a moment’s notice. If nothing else, it’s much more flexible than Ritual Caster, though the single casting per day may prove too limiting if you rely heavily on Rituals.

Partial casters, especially ⅓ casters like the Arcane Trickster and the Eldritch Knight, may appreciate an extra spell that mostly keeps pace with their spell slots while also expanding their otherwise very limited list of prepared spells.

Wish Magic

While the Sorcerer’s spell list isn’t quite as expansive as the Wizard’s, it still has some useful utility options, and some level 1 spells remain useful offensively for your whole career, such as sleep.

As you gain levels, this will allow you to choose a spell and upcast it to level 2 and eventually level 3. That’s mostly useful for offensive spells, but you should avoid the offensive spells which rely on scaling damage because they’ll still be far behind whatever options your character should have at high level.
