Introduction

The Dragonscarred feat provides a permanent damage resistance and a fantastic improvement to the Dragon’s Fear feature from the Cult of the Dragon Initiate feat. However, the ability score increase doesn’t let you improve the DC of Dragon’s Fear, which is extremely frustrating.

Because the ability scores don’t line up, anyone hoping to capitalize on Dragon’s Fear may need to accept that their save DC won’t be maximized. Conquest Paladins are still a great candidate, but a Charisma-based build may be your best choice unless you’re happy to let your Strength/Dexterity fall behind for a while.

Ability Score Increase

Cult of the Dragon Initiate’s Dragon’s Fear feature has a Wisdom-based DC, but this feat lets you choose to increase either Wisdom or Charisma. Why?

The Dragon Cultist Background lets you increase Dex, Con, or Int. Cult of the Dragon Initate has a Wisdom-based DC. Dragonscarred lets you increase Con or Charisma. WHY? Who thought this was a good idea?

Damage Resistance

A permanent damage resistance is great, but strongly consider Gift of the Chromatic Dragon if you’re just here for the damage resistance.

Fearsome Power

A massive improvement to Dragon’s Fear. If your build doesn’t already lean on your Bonus Action heavily, you may be able to use it every turn.
