Baldur's Gate 3 Sorcerer Spells Breakdown

Baldur’s Gate 3 – New Sorcerer Spell List Breakdown

My favorite class in the tabletop version is much harder to endorse in the videogame, but I still love it. The spell list in particular is almost identical to the Wizard list with a few critical differences, namely that it’s missing all of the “Conjure” spells… which are easily the most impactful in the game. It’s still very possible to do good-to-great damage with a Sorcerer, but you end up relying more on gimmicks to accomplish it like the quickened-wet-into-Chromatic-Orb trick discussed in the handbook rather than just having consistent high output. There are some unique options afforded the Sorcerer, however, and that’s before we get into the best part of the class.

Being Charisma-powered, your Sorcerer will be very convincing, meaning that some solutions will be resolved without resorting to spellcasting because you were able to convince your target that a fight wasn’t necessary, that it wasn’t you that stole those things, etc. Therein lies the real power of this class. Regardless, here’s a discussion of what spells are worth learning and how to combine some of them with metamagic to reach the highest level of utility from this wonderful archetype.

Enjoy!
