My first Baldur’s Gate 3 character was originally an illusionist wizard. I had big dreams of inflicting my nonsense on an unfeeling machine rather than plaguing a real person with my long-standing desire to
be a problem abuse illusion magic on a long-term basis. Unfortunately, Baldur’s Gate is short on illusion spells which create fake sensory effects, but we do get Minor Illusion. Unfortunately, the spell’s in-game description is exceptionally vague, so I found the spell confusing and unhelpful. In this article (and accompanying video, which is a first for RPGBOT), I’ve dug into the exact mechanics of the spell and how to get the most out of it.
