Oath of the Ancients is as close to a ranger or a druid as you’re going to get with a paladin. The subclass adds some control spells borrowed from the Druid’s and the Ranger’s spell lists, which results in a playable but somewhat odd paladin.
I decided to lean into that oddness with the example build to do something else odd: I built a paladin that fights with ranged weapons.
