The Aasimar has the most complex version history of any race in 5th edition (though the Eladrin is equally complicated), and the most recent updates really shook things up. The change to the Aasimar’s transformation damage may be the most eye-catching change, but keep in mind that the action cost to transform was reduced to a Bonus Action, so in exchange for less damage the transformation is much easier to use.
