there's been a lot of discussion around
0:01
the spell Spike growth in DND and the
0:04
ability to drag enemies through it to
0:06
forcibly damage them but there are other
0:08
options for using movement offensively
0:11
I'd like to introduce you to a build
0:13
that I call Maxi the toxi attack taxi
0:16
the premise of the build is you build a
0:18
toxi open hand monk focused on movement
0:21
speed and the grappler feet in the 2024
0:24
rules Grappler allows you to move a
0:27
grapple at full speed instead of half
0:29
speed you already see where I'm going
0:31
with this if your character can move
0:33
fast enough you can grab enemies and
0:36
drag them far enough away from combat
0:39
that they stop being a threat so in an
0:43
encounter where you're facing multiple
0:45
enemies like let's say you're just
0:46
facing two enemies you as the monk run
0:49
in grab one of your enemies run away
0:53
drop them and then run back in the space
0:55
of one turn and you have now
0:58
effectively haved the enemies that you
1:00
were fighting you effectively cut an
1:02
encounter in half and saved the rest of
1:05
it for later while you deal with
1:07
whatever is left this is an incredibly
1:10
powerful way to isolate enemies and
1:12
force them to spend potentially multiple
1:15
turns running back to the encounter if
1:17
they rejoin the encounter at all and
1:19
once your party has dealt with the other
1:21
enemies that are still in the encounter
1:23
you can go take care of the isolated
1:25
threat much more safely
1:28
but you can also use this on your party
1:32
in the 2024 rules they've clarified that
1:35
you can willingly fail a saving throw so
1:38
what you can do is you can grapple two
1:40
of your allies and then drag them with
1:43
you when you run into combat this is
1:46
fantastic for dragging allies out of
1:48
grapples out of dangerous positions
1:51
bringing them to vulnerable targets and
1:53
dropping melee allies effectively on top
1:56
of your enemies um starting at level 10
2:00
when martial arts and your focus
2:02
abilities improve when you step of the
2:04
wind you can bring a willing Ally with
2:07
you when you move so you can grapple two
2:10
allies you step of the wind for a third
2:13
and transport yourself and three party
2:16
members effectively at your full speed
2:19
potentially dashing twice in the same
2:21
turn and then using feline agility to
2:24
move a total of six times your
2:26
incredibly high speed in the space of
2:29
one turn turn you can move through
2:31
dangerous areas you can run past
2:33
encounters you can run away from enemies
2:36
whatever you need in the situation you
2:38
can use that Mobility to your advantage
