i ran a game of Merkborg this week for

the first time and it was absolutely

fantastic uh this is a game that I've

been very excited about since it was

released and I've played several times

and always had a great time but I've

never actually GM it so our regular DM

was out this week so I volunteered to

run a oneshot of Mercb we used randomly

generated characters and ran the

adventure in the core rule book it was

great uh characters felt basically

disposable but interesting the dungeon

crawl was really neat and it was laid

out really well um there's enough

ambiguity in the rules that you're

really encouraged to improv and come up

with solutions that make sense at the

time my players felt persistently in

danger and they like they were cautious

they checked doors um one of the

characters had the ability to throw

divining stones and determine if there

was danger in an adjacent room and

somehow they managed to like zigzag

between almost every encounter and skip

all of the combat encounters until they

got straight to like a mini boss over

here and then the main boss we only had

one death which for Murkborg is kind of

disappointing but they managed to to

beat the the final boss of the dungeon

with uh like only lost five or six hit

points between the entire party which

was just stunningly lucky uh regardless

though we had a great time it's a

fantastic system for oneshots for

dungeon crawls um I haven't gotten to

experience it in a longer play campaign
